Rockland Trust is currently seeking a Training Specialist to join our Retail Learning & Development team. Working on a collaborative, fast paced and energetic team, the Training Specialist will develop and facilitate high quality training programs that build employee knowledge and skills through various training formats including online and instructor led classes. The Training Specialist will create an exceptional learning experience for all students by using excellent facilitation skills, well written documentation, quick reference job aids, sales tools, and learning activities that promote classroom practice and interaction. Using a continuous improvement approach, the Training Specialist will assist the team with the ongoing evaluation of learning outcomes to ensure all classes are meeting desired objectives. As part of the training team, the Training Specialist will act as a learning ambassador to strongly promote innovative learning and development solutions throughout the organization.


Develop training documentation, job aids, and sales tools for a variety of curriculums working in collaboration with the training team and business partners

Facilitate Retail Learning & Development classes from various curriculums including Sales, Operations, and Digital

Utilize technology and multiple delivery channels to increase training opportunities throughout the Rockland Trust organization

Prepare classroom for incoming classes; training materials, equipment, flip charts, projector, etc. Everything must be organized, tested, and ready prior to students arriving to class

Facilitate training from any location in the Rockland Trust organization

Assess, recommend and develop new training content based on skill strengths, skill gaps, business initiatives, and current business trends

Interact with business partners on products, services, procedures and systems to ensure desired practices and skills are built into the training materials

Perform other duties as needed



Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in curriculum development, training delivery and facilitation
Ability to maintain a high level of energy, patience, professionalism and a positive outlook
Strong verbal and written skills
Dynamic and engaging presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills to work with students, colleagues, and business partners
Ability to lead groups through discussions and practice activities using questions and providing information
Ability to develop employees through motivation and positive feedback
Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment using a focused, organized, and systematic approach to accomplishing tasks and goals
Ability to learn multiple systems quickly and train them effectively
Ability to travel throughout the Rockland Trust locations
Overnight travel as needed
Excellent working knowledge of Information Mapping, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
