Maintinance Technician
Full-time; On site, M-Th 6am-4:30pm; Overtime as needed

Job summary
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Lead and works collaboratively as a maintenance department. It involves making general facility repairs, assisting in general maintenance items, and creating safe workspaces for a small manufacturing facility. This role serves as part of a small team to ensure company equipment and facilities are kept in good general order.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- General building maintenance - Replace lightbulbs, test exit sign functionality, replace filters, fix basic plumbing issues etc.
- Assist with safety initiatives for the facility.
- Will share primary responsibility for the safety of EDI equipment and facilities.
- Comply with the OSHA standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain property grounds including frequent inspections and general cleanup of grounds.
- Regular inspection of all electrical, mechanical, and other equipment of the facility making recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Repair any minor machinery malfunctions and deficiencies.
- Rebuild basic steel rule dies.
- Complete all tasks as delegated by the Maintenance Specialist or Operations Manager.
- Maintaining all records of repair and maintenance work conducted at EDI.
- Effectively managing time and meeting all specified deadlines.
Skills and experience
- High School diploma, or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a maintenance worker in a manufacturing, healthcare, or production environment
- Must have or obtain a class E Driver’s License and internal forklift certification within 90 days of employment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Safety Mindset
- General manufacturing and carpentry experience
- General hand and power tool experience
- Basic electrical knowledge including meter comprehension
- Basic plumbing knowledge
- Demonstrated work experience in mechanical and pneumatic diagnostics and repair.
- Highly motivated and productive
- Works well independently and communicates well with a team
Physical/work requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to perform routine tasks. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms to reach items on shelves. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk on concrete for long periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work environment
Noise level may require use of Hearing Protection in areas. This position will mainly work in a non-controlled claimant-warehouse environment during the summer months.
This position may require work on weekends and/or holidays depending on the workload.
Mental Environment
This employee can work under extreme deadlines, can manage time, and can multitask quickly. They have a high level of organization. The employee has strong fluency written and spoken English. Must be able to use a computer to complete tasks with a high level of organization.
