Full-time

The SPCA of Northern Nevada is looking for an Adoption Counselor/Matchmaker and Animal Caregiver.

  • Passion for working with animals
  • Animal knowledge and familiarity a plus
  • Answering incoming calls promptly and courteously
  • Capable of working independently as well as being a strong team player
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Computer and data base competency
  • Good organizational skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • People oriented and ability to deal with variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Basic understanding of animal behavior and health care
  • Interpersonal communication skills to communicate with other staff and volunteers
  • Able to work holidays
  • Must work weekends
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted
  • Will spend 15 minutes per day enriching an animal (fun activity for human and pet!)

About You:

The right candidate will have a consistent and genuinely positive attitude. Must have a passion for animals, and excellent customer-service skills. Thrives on working collaboratively as part of a team and willing to pitch in to help others. Must be able to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
