The Nursing Supervisor works with the Nursing Staff of the facility. The Nursing Supervisor plans,organizes,coordinatesanddirectsthenursingfunctionsforprofessionalandnon-professionalnursingpersonneltoensurethehighestqualityofcareisprovidedinacosteffectivemannerwiththeresidentsinthefacility.Thisisdoneinanefficientandtimelymannerwithconsiderationforbothhealthcareandlegalresponsibilitiesoftheresidents,thefacilityandtheemployees.The Nursing Supervisor works with the Director of Nursing to exercise responsibility and accountability for nursing service objectives, implements policies and procedures, coordinates nursing function, activities, and nursing care, as well as providing oversight and supervision to the nursing staff, and their training and competency. The Nursing Supervisors’ role within the chain of command is to act as a resource person, providing the necessary information and assistance to the staff which will enable them to perform their duties and responsibilities in the best manner possible.
