RPM Finish Operations Manager

Raytheon Missile Systems is seeking a Finish Operations Factory Manager of the Raytheon Precision Manufacturing (RPM) factory within the Components Strategic Make Center. The RPM factory in Dallas, Texas is a high mix, high complexity manufacturer specializing in the development and production of precision machined components and sub-assemblies utilizing innovative technologies and processes within a high performing work community.
The Finish Operations Factory Manager position is responsible for all Finish manufacturing related activities in a factory, including Chemical Finish, Wet/Powder Paint, Mechanical Assembly, Brazing, and Metal Additive Manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager of RPM and be part of the leadership team for the overall direction and support of the site.
This highly visible role will be a champion of transformational change in factory performance by utilizing internal innovation, industry trends, best practices and collaboration across the internal functions within RPM and its partners.
The position will provide direct leadership to multiple Value Stream Managers (VSM). The Factory Manager will be tasked to define clear operational schedules, priorities and goals for the facility; lead, collaborate with and influence functional managers to allow for continuous manufacturing flow and help set and champion strategy for the factory.
As the leader of factory Finish operations at RPM, the Factory Manager will be accountable for meeting and exceeding commitments in Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost.
The responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
Develop and meet all Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost goals for RPM
Model the behaviors of Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration and Innovation within the work community
Lead an environment of inclusiveness and innovation
Maintain and continuously improve the site safety culture of this OSHA VPP site
Create factory strategic plans and innovative ideas to meet business objectives
Lead change management and execution of the factory strategies
Develop and execute staffing/equipment plans aligned to the site’s competiveness and growth
Develop a strong talent pipeline for individual and organizational growth
Coach and mentor the leaders within factory operations for organizational performance
Requirements and policy compliance
Lean manufacturing maturity
Manage multiple cost center budgets in support of competitiveness and achieving the site’s Annual Operating Plan
Drive issue identification and resolution by driving to root cause and implementing effective corrective/preventative actions
12 or more years of Manufacturing, Aerospace, or industry adjacent experience to include: interpersonal and leadership development, workforce development, performance evaluation and recognition, and career development
Direct experience managing or providing technical direction to one or more of the process technologies contained with Finish Operations, including Chemical Finish, Wet/Powder Paint, Mechanical Assembly, Brazing, and Metal Additive processes.
Track record of increasing responsibilities with continuous personal and professional growth
Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams which consistently meets or exceeds the organizational commitments
Experience with metrics development, analysis and reporting
Previous leadership experience interacting (reporting, connecting stakeholders, executing resolutions) at all levels of the internal organization
Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement and innovation leadership through inclusiveness and cross functional collaboration
Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD secret clearance
Leadership in high mix components manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to successfully implement significant cost and cycle time reduction initiatives
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing standardized processes
Involvement in activities and industry organizations facilitating knowledge sharing of manufacturing trends and commercial best practices
Previous experience in managing multiple internal factory value streams
New business quotation evaluation, development and capture support
Active DoD secret clearance
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Desired Education: Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) or STEM Degree
