Assists and supports the AVP, Director and Associate Director in optimally performing their role as liaisons with clinical practice leadership to meet the primary goal of optimum reimbursement for services rendered by the clinical practices. MPBS Liaison Team’s essential focus is providing individualized attention and specific billing operations management to the practices and building practice leadership trust in MPBS ensuring the billing service performs optimally.Coordinates the myriad of details involved, as well as providing some of the individualized attention. Develops relationships with all of the practices served by the three associate directors, as well as with other hospital departments which provide services to the clinical practices - Managed Care, Office of Compliance and Reimbursement, IS, etc. Uses data analysis, DBMS/SQL, spreadsheet, presentation, and GE IDX dictionary maintenance to research, analyze, document, and report financial, practice and regulatory data in revenue analysis and practice trend projects,and also to identify and communicate opportunities to maximize and increase revenue retrieval for the hospital.
Associate Degree Preferred. Consideration will be given to appropriate combination of education, training, and experience.
3 years of medical practice billing experience. Medical practice front-end experience preferred.
No special certification, registration or licensure is required.

Excellent oral communication skills preferred. Excellent written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft office application - particularly Excel and Access. DBMS/SQL Report production and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Highly developed customer service skills. Detail oriented with complex problem solving skills. Ability to relate well to physicians and other front office administrators and staff, as well as with back office billing management and staff. Must be able to function in a team oriented, deadline and production driven work environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Coordinates/tracks/follows up on all ad-hoc, routine and special requests and project work for liaison team - including IS requests for updates or changes.
Designs and maintains reports as requested - in areas of, but not limited to, physician productivity, payer reimbursement and coding trends.
Develops and maintains working relationship with clinical practice management and staff and with MPBS management and staff to optimize business plan goal achievement and to contribute to maximization of working relationship of the MPBS liaison team with these entities.
Develops and maintains working relationship with Managed Care Office, Office of Compliance and Reimbursement and third party insurance companies for purpose of researching, identifying and achieving goals of business plans and to contributing to maximization of MPBS’ working relationship with these entities.
Exemplifies Guest and Associate Relations standards in all activities in areas of service, resource utilization, high quality outcomes and effective communication.
Identifies and communicates IS updates and changes needed to increase efficiency and productivity.
Identifies and communicates opportunities to optimize revenue.
Maintains practice business plan documents, keeping the plans in a standard format, updating them as requested and keeping practice reference binders up to date.
Monitors, follows up on and communicates findings concerning implementations of new or modified policies and procedures, as assigned.
Participates in educational/professional development activities.
Performs other duties as assigned. Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area.
Prepares documentation - including, but not limited to, monthly GE IDX management reports, rejection subsystem reports, coding data - for presentation to Practice and/or MPBS management.
Presents information to practices and to MPBS in various formats - including oral presentations, as assigned.
Provides general support to Associate Directors, AVP, and Director as needed - to include report review and distribution, billing account inquiries and account follow up, charge batch research, dictionary maintenance - procedure codes and billing area, phone coverage to ensure that clinical practice leadership receive timely response to inquiries,
Researches/analyzes/documents financial, practice and regulatory data and/or reports including, but not limited to, revenue analysis projects, practice trends - involving account research and information documentation in spreadsheet software formats.
