We are looking for an experienced web front-end engineer to develop the front-end for our analytic cloud and data acquisition S/W. As a senior engineer, your work will include the development, testing and integration of the UI for software that manages the acquisition and storage of instrument and experimental data, manual and automated extraction of neuronal circuit activity, and data processing and analysis.
Own the development, testing and integration of entire UI features and/or product UI’s and work cross-functionally with product managers, other engineers, application scientists and engineers, UX designers and others to build and deliver to production
Code, test, document and deliver features with cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and usability
Assist with quality assurance: issue identification, isolation, and remediation issues, such as site outages or other problems in production code
Collaborate with teammates through all technical tools available including Slack, video conferencing, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence and all other tools commonly used to conduct business
Investigate technologies that can be leveraged to introduce scalable, reliable, and reusable solutions in meeting company and community goals
Participate in agile development process, including scoping, detailed design, effort estimation, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance and support
Provide input into process improvement initiatives to improve quality and timeliness of deliverables with high predictability
5+ years of web front end development experience
Proficient in latest open standards such as ES6, CSS3 and HTML5 and able to make the right choices when building responsive UI applications
API integrations with various external services
Working knowledge in backend architecture for web-based data visualization applications and data modeling patterns for data visualization
Strong problem solving, analytical and object-oriented programming skills
Able to decompose complex problems into manageable units of work
Multimedia processing (especially video)
Experience developing web applications using a REST API.
Proficient in Data Visualization techniques, JS libraries (D3.js) and best practices
