You will handle a variety of responsibilities for our 2 plants (both in Marion, OH) & report directly to the Plant Manager. With the help of the corporate HR team, you interpret & administer HR policies. Among many other duties, you ensure labor relations are carried out in a cooperative manner… & handle all hourly labor issues. This involves investigating events & recommending solutions to management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attend daily production meetings.
  • Work w/supervisors to ensure the completion of performance evaluations & calculate pay increases.
  • Serve as office manager with 1-2 direct reports.
  • Handle and track grievances & work w/union representatives for proper resolution.
  • Perform recruitment activities (ie. interviewing, reference checking, benefits enrollment etc.)
  • Payroll responsibilities.
  • Handling disciplinary actions taken as well as terminations.
  • Labor issues associated with the hourly workforce.
  • Resolve or recommend solutions for management approval.
  • Enforce all activities are carried in accordance with union contract.
  • Oversees security and plant protection for the entire facility.
  • Select, develop, show leadership how to empower direct reports.
  • Participate & supports safety & quality projects and activities and responsible care initiatives.
  • Ensure personnel files are maintained appropriately.
  • Maintain records.
  • Handle special projects as they come up.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be eligible to work in the US for any company without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • BA or BS in HR or a related relevant focus.
  • Must have plant experience from a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years of human resource experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
