Culture Biosciences grows organisms for biotech companies. We've built the first cloud bioreactor facility. Here's how it works:
Our customers are experts in DNA design -- they send us their genetically engineered organisms for testing.
We grow their cells in our bioreactors to examine the efficacy of different protocols and their effect on yield and productivity.
Our customers monitor the state of things via our website. At the end we send them samples for storage or custom analysis.
The Role: We are hiring a Hardware Assembly Technician for our team. The Hardware Assembly Technician is responsible for supporting Hardware engineering and operations objectives at Culture Biosciences. The core function of the Hardware Technician is hands-on manufacturing, repair and testing of hardware assemblies. Additional tasks may include supporting equipment installation/maintenance, participating in inventory management, and collaborating on development projects.
What you will do:
Perform assembly operations for bioreactors, utility carts, single-use vessels and experiment accessories.
Perform in-process verification testing to assess assembly compliance with acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with team members to manage component inventory and material flow.
Support prototype fabrication for new concepts and provide feedback to engineering staff.
Perform testing on samples using engineering-provided test methods and collect accurate data points.
Communicate with the Materials Coordinator on weekly objectives and projects.
Support management of the laboratory infrastructure, including organizing and cataloging inventory.
You have a H.S. diploma or Associates degree with 1-2 years working in a high-volume production role handling small components or assembling handheld consumer devices.
You are a quick learner and have strong attention to detail.
You are organized and can complete routine tasks quickly and accurately.
You enjoy working in a physical role and are capable of lifting 25 lbs from ground to waist level.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. During the time period in which COVID-19 restrictions are still in force, 40 work hours will be distributed across predefined shifts. Occasional overtime work may be requested with advanced notice.
