2020 Internship Program Overview
As a part of the Hennessy Industries Summer Internship Program, students have opportunity to advance their strengths and interests. This program allows participants to network with leaders and to build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication. Each internship assignment is a 12-week program (late May – early August) in which you will assume responsibility on challenging projects and see them through from strategy to implementation. The program culminates with a report-out presentation to a group of Leaders and Executives.
2020 Service Data Analyst Intern
Customer Service & Field Support Department Summary
As with any equipment, to continue to perform as it did when it left the factory, proper maintenance and repair is needed. Hennessy Industries has a long-standing reputation for providing world class service to our customers post sale. Hennessy Industries utilizes the latest technology in work order processing and dispatching to ensure our customers maximize their uptime experience with our equipment. Hennessy Industries continuously tries to find new ways to improve the efficiencies of our service offerings and minimize downtime of the equipment.
The Data Analyst Intern is responsible for supporting the Customer Service & Field Support Department and providing the business with data analysis support. This includes analyzing repair data, identifying trends in complaint/cause data, mean-time to repair for part failures, and service territory analysis & design.
Develop root-cause analysis for the “cause of our top customer repair complaints”
Collect and analyze data to provide recommendations to enhance our work order processing system and improve our complaint data collection process
Collect and analyze repair data to support the improvement of our FRFT2D (Fix Right, First Time, 2 Days) customer commitment
Actively participate in service territory analysis to support proper design focusing on maximizing efficiency with profitability
Other duties as assigned
Position Specific Qualifications and Requirements
Must meet the Hennessy Internship Program Application requirements
Must be pursuing BS Degree in Business Administration or related field with concentration in statistics preferred
Must have completed Sophomore level courses prior to the internship start; successful completion of statistics, data analysis, and market analysis courses are a plus
Must possess solid MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with a major focus in Excel; general computer skills

Internship Program Requirements
In order to submit an application for the Hennessy Industries Summer Internship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Students must be currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited program or institution and have completed at least four semesters of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship OR be currently enrolled and taking classes in an accredited graduate program
Have obtained a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher during the last semester completed before the current program application deadline
Meet Any School Requirements for Participation – Students also must meet any additional criteria their school requires for participation in our program. This may include G.P.A., grade level, and number of credit hours earned.
Be at Least 18 Years of Age by the Time the Program Begins
Must be able to work at our LaVergne, TN facility for the duration of the summer program. Company-provided temporary living assistance may be available.
The application submission deadline for the 2020 Summer Program is October 13, 2019.
