The Store Manager is responsible for exceeding
customer expectations and maximizing profitable sales.
Qualified candidates must be effective leaders with excellent communication skills,
strong decision making ability, and must be able to excel in a fast paced environment.
Previous management experience is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the store manager in supervising and scheduling store AutoZoners
  • Assuming responsibility for the store operation in the store manager’s absence
  • Training and developing Store AutoZoners
  • Communicating AutoZoner issues and concerns to the store manager in a timely and

confidential manner

  • Providing feedback regarding AutoZoner performance to the store manager; preparing,

and as directed by the store manager, conducting, corrective action reviews

  • Managing assigned weekly and monthly P&L responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Motivating Store AutoZoners to provide WOW! Customer Service
  • Assisting customers in finding parts and products using the electronic or paper catalogs
  • Addressing customer concerns and resolving them with a goal of turning a complaint

into a compliment

  • Operating cash registers and following established cash handling duties, including but not

limited to deposits, petty cash and lane accountability

  • Assisting with management of the commercial department (as applicable) to ensure

commercial accounts are serviced and deliveries are made as promised

  • Ensuring store merchandising tasks, including but not limited to stocking the store are

completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Processing returns and managing inventory effectively
  • Conducting and reviewing all opening and closing procedures; reporting discrepancies to

store manager, district manager and loss prevention

  • Compliance with established policies, procedures and legal requirements

  • Maintaining sales productivity, store appearance and merchandising standards; setting the

example and directing other AutoZoners accordingly

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of retail management experience
ASE- P2 Certified preferred
Full-Time / Part-Time Status
Work variety of shifts to include nights, weekends and most holidays

  • We have a “got it” attitude and exhaust all resources to find what our customers need. If

you can’t find a part, check with other managers before you say, we can’t get it because
“it takes two to say no” and your managers may have other ideas
You need to understand

  • We test starters, alternators and batteries before selling customers new ones
  • We clean our own bathroom
  • We do merchandise resets frequently
  • We help load and unload the truck and stock our own shelves
  • Most of your time is spent waiting on customers. Sometimes you will wait on more than

one customer at a time

  • Being able to handle customer complaints is an important part of your job

You need to know

  • You will work a variety of shifts
  • We do not offer set schedules; you will usually have two days off each week, but these

days will vary

  • We are open for business at night, on weekends and most holidays
