Position Title: Sr. Facilities Engineer
Reports To: Sr. Facilities Manager
Job Summary: This position is to provide design engineering services and oversee capital equipment installations and modifications for both Facilities and Engineering Departments at the current Alta sites and future manufacturing sites. This position is expected to support general construction needs as well as various engineering tasks, and support the Facilities Manager in facilities operations.
Produce engineering installation design drawings for new capital equipment.
Coordinate process tool installations and facilities modifications.
Document all phases of a project, (i.e., scope of work, schedule, fiscal tracking, change orders, etc.).
Conduct design review meetings.
Coordinate design process with Alta Process Engineers, Facility Manager, and Safety Officer.
Prepare/review RFQs and oversee contractor bid process for projects.
Obtain all necessary building construction permits from Santa Clara/Sunnyvale Building Department and Fire Department; interface with city inspectors.
Correct or revise any errors or deficiencies in the designs, drawings, specifications, and other services that Alta determines to be necessary.
Ensure that quality and workmanship of the contractor’s work are to accepted trade and Alta’s internal standards.
Work with Production Engineers to optimize equipment to maintain F and H-occupancy requirements.
Responsible for updating facility systems MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) CAD drawings.
Interface with Tool Owners and other end users to resolve facilities systems issues.
Support the following facility processes:
Bulk and specialty gases, CDA system, process vacuum/scrubbed exhaust
Process cooling water, process chilled water, DI water
Chemical distribution systems and storage
Fire protection, life safety system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience
A minimum of 12 year’s experience in the semiconductor-manufacturing and/or solar industry
Background in Facilities and/or Production project management
Excellent understanding of applicable regulations and codes
Proficient in MS Project, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience as site superintendent / PM on large T.I. projects
While performing the duties of this job the employee will frequently be required to stand; walk; bend, stoop, balance, crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift/push or pull up to 50lbs. Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feet.
