Here at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, we are currently seeking an experienced, passionate, and proactive Sous Chef, who is a team player and will effectively meet our hotel goals while also providing excellent customer service to our guests in conjunction with other departments.

  • Minimum 5 years kitchen experience in à la carte or banquets.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
  • Read, write and speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work extended hours when business necessitates.


  • Assist in the directing and correcting the presentation and portioning of food according to Columbia Sussex standards.
  • Assist in the responsibility to select, train, supervise, develop, discipline and counsel employees in accordance with Columbia Sussex Hotel Company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate directly with other departments to ensure highest guest satisfaction.
  • Complete all assigned paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Complete daily food requisition and oversee specials utilizing and buildup of overstock.
  • Maintain work areas clean and organized.
  • Order food quantities and oversee production for banquet food operations with purchasing, banquet management and Executive Chef.
  • Assist in directing staff in sanitation and sanitary food handling.
  • Conduct daily walk-through of all walk-in refrigerators, storage rooms, and food lines to ensure rotation, usage, cleanliness and proper sanitation.
  • Monitor overtime, labor and food costs.
  • Attend all required meetings.
