Reporting to the CTO of CUIMC IT, the Sr. Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure and platforms in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure.

The incumbent will: collaborate with the Systems Manager, Senior Systems Administrators, and Application Administrators to ensure alignment of AWS and Azure solution architecture with existing enterprise infrastructure support architecture, strategies, and information security considerations in a PHI environment; partner with business application owners and technical resources; lead application life cycle management initiatives by refactoring or replacing legacy applications with cloud applications; develop cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring; conduct cloud readiness assessments factoring in business and technical perspectives; evaluate existing data center infrastructure and proposes an AWS and Azure cloud computing strategy; other duties as assigned.

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience.

4+ years' of experience in infrastructure engineering

2+ years' experience in cloud based infrastructure

Knowledge of the AWS Well Architected Framework(s)

Knowledge of server operating systems, networking, and system and network security

Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud environments

Understanding of system development in cloud environments, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Must have experience in understanding the architecture, migration and deployment of on-prem applications in AWS and Azure, and hybrid environments: on-prem as well as cloud

Knowledgeable in implementing automation through scripting and utilizing third party products and tools for migration and solution delivery

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies including teamwork/collaboration, analytical thinking, communication and influencing skills, and technical expertise

Ability to work with changing priorities and with multiple projects

Ability to be precise and attentive to detail is essential

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to work weekend and off-hour work on occasion

Experience in stakeholder management in complex organizations with a consultant mindset, to ensure client satisfaction with timely delivery of cloud solutions

Experience in conducting cloud service maps, TCO analysis, security considerations as part cloud adoption framework desirable

Architects with certifications in AWS and/or Azure preferred

Experience working in a close Agile or Scrum team

Strong understanding of NCSC Cloud Security Principles and its practical implementations

Experience in stakeholder management in complex organizations with a consultant mindset, to ensure client satisfaction with timely delivery of cloud solutions

Experience with Citrix XenDesktop\XenApp, Hyper-V and VMware Horizon 7

Experience in conducting cloud service maps, TCO analysis, security considerations as part cloud adoption framework desirable

Architects with certifications in AWS and/or Azure preferred

Experience working in a close Agile or Scrum team

Strong understanding of NCSC Cloud Security Principles and its practical implementations

Essential Functions
