In-Depth seeks a talented, energetic and organized engineer with a passion for complex GIS system design and development. In-Depth Engineering is executing several engineering programs to improve the presentation of geospatial information to sailors within the United States Navy. Our current solution, referred to as the Multi-Layer Geographic Display, interposes tactical information from numerous onboard sensors (e.g. sonar, radar and EW sensors) with underlying geographical/cartographical information. Our research and development contracts include efforts to migrate to a microservice based product architecture as required within a federated combat system (a program referred to as the Spatial Data Visualization Service), efforts to integrate new and offboard sensors, and efforts to introduce augmented and mixed reality presentation.
Incumbent must be comfortable joining a team of highly energetic GIS engineers, designing, building and testing architecture approaches, conceptualizing display and OMI concepts, prototyping, and delivering high performance solutions.
Candidates must have engineering degree and knowledge of GIS architectures, cartography, GIS related map services, and OMI theories and applications. Candidate must also have strong oral and written communication skills.
The job is located at our research and development site in Columbia, MD.
Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to attain an active Department of Defense secret clearance.

BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related engineering field of study
Strong foundation in software development with experience with Java or C++
Experience with WMS/WFS Globe integration
Experience with message-based development
Experience with OpenGL and 3D transforms
Familiarity with a Linux environment
