Regional VP, Customer Development

MSLGROUP Germany - Minneapolis, MN

The Regional Vice President of Customer Development is responsible for the functional management and leadership of the West Direct Sales team including sales related activities for assigned brands/categories at our key Midwest and West Grocery accounts. The Regional Vice President of Customer Development is expected to develop a more strategic role with top-top meetings and joint business plans, driving results both tactfully and strategically. The ideal candidate will be based in the Minneapolis or Chicago metro area or the state of Texas, near a major airport.

Additional responsibilities include:
Lead and develop direct reports
Develop and execute Joint Business Planning (JBP) Goals with assigned accounts
Align with the accounts to develop strategic business plans to drive Brands and Category growth
Direct sales forecasting and projection activities
Manage Trade budget and monitor spending efficiency that focus on a strong ROI
Deduction Management
Understand assigned accounts go-to-market strategy and how to maximize sales efficiency
Maintain, foster, and grow existing and new relationships within assigned accounts at the executive level including Senior Divisional, Buyer and Senior Buyer
Monthly reporting, sales analytics and insights; understand go-to-market strategy and how to maximize sales efficiency
P&L management within respective account coverage

10+ years of successful National outside sales experience in the Grocery, Drug and/or Mass retail channels within the consumer goods industry
Experience within the Health & Wellness and/or Beauty channel required
Directly managed teams
Experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and establish the most effective pricing and promotional activities that will increase sales and market share for the company and its customers
Project Management experience in a complex, fast-moving environment.
Relationship management with assigned accounts, experience and mindset to work with partners in building initiatives that deliver on goals
Prior track record of success driving the partnership and sales for Target
Prior category management processes and implementation experience
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Strong organizational skills, with the demonstrated ability to multitask
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Bachelor’s degree required; a major in Business Administration or Marketing is preferred
MBA is a strong plus
P&L management and strong financial acumen
Overnight travel is required
