Traditionally Monday-Friday, work schedule is variable depending on workload with some evening and weekend work required.

Provide a brief statement of the position duties.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Audio Visual Services, provide audio visual, video conference, and classroom technology support using a mix of available platforms and infrastructure. The focus will be on day-to-day operational integrity of video conferencing services, audio visual requests, and classroom technology support services to faculty, instructors, students, guest presenters, and administration.

Collaborate with team in coordination, operation, troubleshooting, and user training of soft-client applications, classroom control interfaces, video conferencing, and streaming recording systems. Assist with video conference and event management including scheduling, equipment setup, operating, monitoring and user support.

Required Minimum Work Experience:
One year experience as an audio visual technician.
Prior experience setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and supporting users with audio visual technology, preferably in an education or training setting.
Knowledge, skills, abilities or attributes required.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in operating a wide range of audio visual equipment and classroom technology including computers, cameras, projectors, audio systems, video playback and recording equipment, and classroom control interfaces.
Basic networking understanding to troubleshoot inbound and outbound traffic flow and connectivity issues.
Demonstrated skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting end user problems, identifying client's needs, and recommending and/or performing appropriate solutions.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Ability to organize and coordinate resources to expedite solutions and complete event requests within given deadlines.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative, work independently and follow through on requests and demands with minimal direction. Willingness to take on new projects, develop creative solutions and embrace new and emerging technologies that may have a positive impact on the university.
Ability to stand, climb, stoop, and crouch for extended periods of time, and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for short periods of time for set-up, installation, and repair of audio visual equipment and systems with or without reasonable accommodations.
Ability to provide positive customer service skills in a friendly, approachable and effective manner.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and when problems occur.
Ability to work evenings and weekends and be on-call.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certificate.
Bachelor's Degree or above in Education, Broadcasting, Media Technology, or related field.
Supervisory experience.
Prior experience directly supporting video conferencing equipment and users in a higher educational, corporate or hospitality environment.
