Materials Research Scientist/Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a Materials Research Scientist/Engineer to join the R2E Materials and Manufacturing Processes (M&MP) group. The primary responsibilities of this individual contributor position include support for development of advanced passive devices including concept definition, related new process developments and related material studies; support to foundry DOE and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts in nanofabrication related to HEMT device fabrication; support to GaN development efforts including advanced GaN HEMT materials devices, circuits, and applications; support to advanced thermal packaging efforts; support new business capture; CRAD program execution and technical support to subcontracts; Materials Research Engineer for M&MP will work with the Senior PIs to develop CRAD program execution skills. This typically involves establishing CRAD program plans and budgets, technical leadership of multi-disciplinary teams of RF circuit and mechanical designers, preparing monthly and quarterly technical customer briefings, managing to schedule and cost constraints. Working with external subcontractors.

Mentoring - Work with a Senior Principal Investigator(s) to advance overall technical skills and advanced R&D expertise in the forefront of Advanced Microelectronics.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with (6) plus years of experience.
Ideal candidates will be highly innovative, and have in-depth physics and materials background and be familiar with nanofabrication processes and measurement techniques. Candidates should also have a working understanding of GaN and GaAs HEMT devices, circuits and applications. Capture duties include working with senior capture team leaders in preparing technical briefings, oral customer briefings, strategy planning, ability to engage and develop customer interest, and proposal development. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must and experience in preparing highly technical briefs for DARPA and ONR customers is required.
