You will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and improving the day-to-day HR operations. You will be the main point of contact for all HR related matters and accountable for aligning strategic objectives across assigned locations. You will serve as an advisor to management, acts as a change agent, and own the functional areas of recruitment, onboarding/off-boarding, employee engagement, performance management, training and development, as well as other project based initiatives.
How you will make a difference:
You will oversee the recruitment cycle by partnering with the recruiting team and key stakeholders to understand the business need, provide guidance on appropriate job levels, and make compensation determinations
You will lead key HR initiatives and rollout new HR programs by collaborating with colleagues to develop improved policies, programs, and solutions
You will facilitate employee and manager training by delivering presentations, and leading discussions in front of a large groups
You will advise managers on employee relations, review/draft performance improvement plans, and execute terminations as necessary
You will be the subject matter expert on all HR systems including our recruiting platform and performance management tool
You will create and audit job descriptions, research compensation data, and make recommendations to the hiring manager in order to align with our internal structure
You will manage the complete onboarding/off-boarding process for employees as well as draft and distribute employee communications as necessary, i.e. new hires, engagement events, training initiatives, etc.
You will conduct new hire follow up meetings, collect data and be able to provide feedback to managers and senior leaders
You will manage employee communications and distribution of HR marketing materials
You will find ways to build morale, improve workplace relationships, and boost productivity and retention
You will maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent field of study
3-5 years relevant experience in a Human Resources role
Extraordinary organizational, customer service, interpersonal communication skills with the flexibility to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment and the ability to actively participate and sometimes lead cross functional teams
Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
Demonstrated knowledge in all areas of HR to include but not be limited to, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations and compliance
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Detail oriented and ability to lead multiple priorities
Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
This position will require occasional domestic travel (20-25%)
Able to read, write, speak, fluently and comprehend the English language
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
Previous experience working for a federal contractor under the requirements of an Affirmative Action Plan
Experience supporting organizations of 100 – 500 employees within a decentralized or matrix style structure
Previous experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry
Experience working with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRMS system
