The Inner Strength Foundation is a dynamic and growing non-profit that supports teen development with mindfulness and developmental thinking programs. We reach 1900 teens a year in Philadelphia high schools. This is an exciting moment in the growth of the organization. This position of Assistant Director will also serve as Business Development Associate. The right candidate will be involved in and help coordinate, research, and maintain excellent systems as we grow our in-school programs, after school OST programs, collaborations, and donor outreach efforts. You will be responsible for administrative support including review of monthly financials, partnership agreements, contractor contracts and clearances, and scheduling.

The Inner Strength Foundation is a 501c3 and program partner of the Urban Affairs Coalition.

Our mission is to provide mindfulness and systems thinking programs to high school students within the public school system of Philadelphia. We currently reaches 1900 students per academic year and have sister programs beginning in multiple states. ISF activities include: teen mindfulness programming, adult teacher training classes, professional development for educators, whitepapers and publications in the field of social-emotional learning and trauma-informed tools for youth.

The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing scheduling for team of 8 instructors and 70 classrooms
  • Tracking pipeline for business development
  • Tracking pipeline for major donor cultivation
  • Preparing materials for grant applications
  • Processing monthly contracts and invoices
  • Reviewing monthly financials and creating cash flow projections
  • Support for Executive Director

This position is ideal for an experienced administrator from a large non-profit who is interested in making a difference and applying their experience to a pivotal point in a 3-year-old organization. You must have experience with project management, C-level administrative assistance, or business development. The right candidate is a good communicator who is comfortable with technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of six (6) years administrative work that demonstrates a high level of personal accountability, organizational skills and ability to handle responsibility.
  • Advanced proficiency in reading basic P/L financial reports, word processing, spreadsheet applications, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Experience identifying potential business opportunities, evaluating collaborations, program revenue streams, and government funding sources
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to create and adhere to efficient systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

LOCATION

  • Part-time onsite in Center City, Philadelphia and part-time off-site.

PT or FT

This position will begin as part-time 20-25 hours per week and will grow into Full time after 3 months.

The full time position is a non-exempt, benefit eligible position. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and sick time, and time off to participate in mindfulness trainings offered by the organization.
