Responsibilities:
- Ensure the mission and vision of the school are demonstrated in all actions.
- Help to ensure and foster the highest quality educational experience for all students.
- Collaborate with educators to provide a safe and productive learning environment.
- Work one-on-one or with small groups with students to address their individual behavioral and/or social-emotional needs.
- Work with faculty and staff to understand and implement a school-wide discipline plan.
- Act as a resource for faculty, teachers, and parents regarding student behavior and social-emotional concerns.
- Communicate with students, parents, and teachers regarding individual student behavioral and/or social-emotional problems.
- Facilitate communication between personnel, students, and/or parents toward solving problems and resolving conflicts.
- Promptly inform parents of escalated behavior and/or social-emotional problems and consistently provide updates to parents regarding student behaviors.
- Respond to parent concerns regarding behavior and/or social-emotional presentation.
- Collaborate with staff, administrators, and parents through the behavioral response to intervention process.
- Provide counseling services for students who receive services under Section 504, via 504 Plans, or as mandated by individual student IEPs.
- Assist staff and members of the behavioral management team in enforcing all school-wide behavior management and reward systems, and coordinate regularly with Director of Climate & Culture and Student Support Manager to ensure these systems are in place.
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of student behavior plans, as directed.
- Clearly communicate and consistently enforce high standards for student behavior.
- Comply with all school policies and procedures.
- Report evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, bullying, hazing, and potential suicide or self-harming behaviors to appropriate personnel and communicate to outside agencies as necessary.
- Complete documentation regarding behavioral/social-emotional incidents on an individual basis and keep record of these files.
- Assist students in discovering the root cause of their behaviors and help them to develop tools to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
- Assist students in discovering the root cause of their social-emotional presentation and help them to identify and implement replacement behaviors.
- Attend all required professional development.
- Assist with student and parent events as well as extra curricular activity.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) with a Professional Educator License (endorsement in "School Social Work").
- Minimum of 5 years experience teaching or working with students in a counseling capacity.
- Positive, solution-focused individual with a growth mindset.
- Personal initiative and desire for responsibility.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Demonstrated organizational, writing, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to adults and children.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
