3D Modeling Specialist – Innovative Project Delivery

VHB is #10 in Zweig Group’s Top 100 Hot firms and we’re looking for a 3D modeling specialist to join our Innovative Project Delivery team.

The ideal candidate would have a Civil design background with a passion for creating 3D models for visualization, animation, and augmented/virtual reality to help provide our project stakeholders with a clear understanding of the projects we are designing for them. You will be part of a unique team that is focused on advancing the use of innovative technology across our organization. We are looking for someone that is passionate about researching and improving workflows and developing best practices to help advance the state of the art.

Efforts associated to this role will include generating renderings, videos, animations, gaming engines, as well as using emerging technologies like augmented reality, and virtual reality in our project and proposal process. The ideal candidate is positive and proactive, should be able to work in a team environment, pay attention to detail, have excellent communication skills with a diverse team spread across multiple locations.

The candidate should have a working knowledge in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, composition using a variety of the following tools 3ds Max, Sketchup, Vray, LumenRT, Lumion, Infraworks, Civil 3D, MicroStation. Experience in ArcGIS City Engine, Adobe Creative Suite, Navisworks, Revit, ConceptStation, Context Capture, Unity or Unreal Engine a plus.

This is a full-time position in one of VHB’s offices.

Key Roles:
Work with VHB’s Innovative Project Delivery Team to enhance our visualization and modeling skills across the company
Create and edit 3D models based on Civil plans and sketches
Work with VHB’s UAS team developing best practices around rapidly building existing conditions models
Apply textures and incorporate realistic lighting into a 3D model.
Produce renderings using VHB’s visualization applications.
Assist in workflow development, support and training of VHB staff members
Troubleshoot issues with modeling and visualization applications
Required Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or similar.
Knowledge of 3DsMax or Sketchup and V-Ray.
Experience in Civil 3D, Infraworks, or MicroStation and a Bentley Civil design application
Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and workload.
Experience/understanding of schematic drawings and construction drawings.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field.
