Job Summary

We are seeking a Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting to join our Corporate Accounting team.

The Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting is responsible for business unit accounting for inventory and product costs, financial controls and analysis of inventory balances.

Support monthly and quarterly close processes for certain business units (e.g. inventory flux, reserves, calculate and record absorption variances)
Analyze inventory activity by location and generate accruals as needed.
Prepare related journal entries for necessary adjustments.
Gather and consolidate monthly inventory data and aid in preparation of internal reporting.
Assist in the preparation of various inventory analyses as needed.
Assist in supporting SOX inventory controls and requirements.
Assist senior team members in conducting, managing, and reconciling annual physical inventory counts.
Assist in ensuring compliance with all Charles River inventory policies.
Perform all other related duties and or special projects as assigned.

The following are minimum requirements for the Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting position.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Finance/Accounting.
One to three years or more experience working in accounting/analyst positions. Public accounting experience a plus.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
