Certified Medical Assistant or Associate's in Medical Assist
Position provides assistance to patients and providers with direct and indirect patient care. Medical Office Technician/Certified Medical Assistant works under the direction of the clinical provider and office manager.
Ideal candidate would also scribe or is willing to learn to scribe. They would be responsible for going into the room with the provider, scribing the visit as per the physician's template, entering orders, preparing injections and discussing care with the patient if they have any questions once the provider leaves the room.
In addition to these duties, on the days the provider is in the OR, the medical assistant would prepare for the next clinic day, gathering needed information the provider will need, answer clinical phone calls, handle clinical tasking via EHR, obtain authorization for ordered tests, schedule appointments for testing and maintaining the stock in each exam room.
High School diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited CAAHEP or ABHES Certified Medical Assistant course
Credentialed by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) / CMA
RMA with American Medical Technologists (AMT).
General knowledge or medical ethics and confidentiality
Zero to six months experience under the supervision of a physician in a clinical medical office setting with phlebotomy and medication administration
