We currently have a great assignment for a Structural Diagnostic Project Engineer in Chicago, Illinois with one of our clients, an engineering firm that specializes in environmental, facilities and geotechnical services.
The Structural Diagnostic Project Engineer will join our client’s Facilities Consulting Team in order to provide structural, diagnostic and general engineering support services on projects in the public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy and industrial sectors. This individual will work under the direction of a Professional Engineer and may be responsible for the supervision of field staff. Additional Structural Diagnostic Project Engineer’s responsibilities shall include:
Participating in pre-construction activities such as the preparation of proposals, cost estimates & schedules and engineering plans
Performing inspections and conducting analysis to include field condition assessments of building systems related to structural / material components as well as evaluating laboratory data in order to make project recommendations and for use in reporting
Reviewing design drawings to assure compliance with plans and specifications
Tracking and evaluating project progress, monitoring budgets and making recommendations when necessary
Coordinating non-technical communications and technical project details including issues, conceptual solutions and recommendations between project teams, field personnel and vested parties
Specific qualifications for the Structural Diagnostic Project Engineer role include:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; a Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred
3 or more years of engineering experience focused on structural systems and/or diagnostics for defect assessment and remedial correction
Designation as an Engineering-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI)
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
