We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Shop Manager to join our team and take charge of the day-to-day operations of our diesel maintenance shop. As the Diesel Shop Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing, training, and coordinating the work of our team of mechanics and technicians.
Responsibilities
Oversees shop inventory, orders parts, shop supplies, and equipment.
Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of shop employees.
Prepares maintenance schedules for motor vehicles and heavy equipment; notifies drivers and dispatch team when maintenance is to be performed.
Prioritize and delegate work to mechanics.
Process shop paperwork such as work orders, invoices, filing, etc.
Provide training and guidance to ensure the team performs their duties efficiently and effectively.
Timely and effectively respond to emergency situations (i.e. driver accidents and equipment breakdown) as they occur (during the day, night, and weekends).
Communicate with the team daily about repair schedule and truck availability using professional phone and email etiquette.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Maintains database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipment.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in supervising diesel maintenance operations.
- Strong understanding of heavy diesel engine diagnosis and repairs.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Automotive and Diesel technology.
- Commercial Driver’s License Class A, a plus.

- Valid Driver’s License
- Meets applicable guidelines of company’s insurers.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Shift of 8 hours, or more.
- Nights, as scheduled or assigned.
- Weekends, as scheduled or assigned.
