Full Job Description
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with CPE/client-side networking technologies (i.e. IP/Ethernet, Telemetry).
Experience in wireless technologies used in local-area-networks (i.e. WiFi, band management, WiFi Meshing, EasyMesh, etc.).
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a background in service-provider networking design.
3 years of experience in analytics and automation using Python, Java, or Go.
Experience in operating telecom/service-provider networks.
Deep understanding of client-side application layer communication protocols such as TR-69, netconf, SNMP, MQTT, and Protocol Buffers.

The Architecture team at Google Access is responsible for designing the first converged cloud-native network that will make the internet available to all. As a member of the team, you will make use of your good understanding of CPE/client-gateways, Client-side Networking, and Distributed System Architecture to design a secure, scalable and flexible cloud-native service-provider network that can efficiently and reliably ensure our users stay connected with our suite of products, and the rest of the world alike.

Take responsibility for make-vs-buy decisions for cross-cutting concerns and key system modules.
Engage with relevant vendors, partners, and standardization bodies to advance the networking/telecommunication industry to the next level.
Work with backend and frontend engineering teams to support third party cloud managed devices.
Develop testing and analysis methodologies to quantitatively determine if various platforms, technologies, and devices meet business needs.
Provide guidance to customer support agents and network operations on what network and device telemetry are useful for end-user troubleshooting and means to retrieve that data.
