Participates in the preparation and review of income tax returns.

Participates in preparation and review of income tax returns for various revocable, irrevocable, estate, charitable, and individual entities, as well as compliance reporting of all custodial and tax-deferred accounts.
Calculates and tracks all required minimum distributions on tax deferred accounts and timely remits any requested tax withholdings.
Coordinates quarterly review and preparation of fiduciary and individual tax estimates. Ensures payments are taken within required deadlines.
Completes household employee reporting and filing.
Inputs data for preparation of small number of 1040 returns.
Interacts with outsourced tax provider to manage workload and data review throughout tax season.
Reviews and responds to federal and state inquiries.
Reviews daily cash transactions to ensure accurate tax coding.
Reconciles tax refunds to expected proceeds and deposit funds.
Performs daily administrative tasks and periodic projects, as assigned by management.
Responds to inquiries from clients, Trust and Administrative Officers, Bank’s third party tax provider, and federal and state taxing authorities, as they pertain to clients’ tax situations.
Researches and remains current on federal and state tax law for purpose of responding to inquiries from customers or internal relationship managers.
Maintains proactive tracking of various task and accountings to ensure efficient and organized tax season.
Works closely with Tax Officer in managing and meeting monthly filing deadlines.
Performs additional duties, as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or taxation.
Minimum 2 years of tax preparation experience, preferably in high volume, private wealth management tax department, with focus on fiduciary returns.
Knowledge of SunGard Advantage, OneSource Trust Tax, and Thompson-Reuters Ultra Tax CS preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to learn various tax and trust related systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail.
Motivated, self-starter with aptitude for researching and interpreting various tax laws.
Independent and accountable; works and communicates well with others.

Heavy keyboard use.
Ability to work extended hours during the tax season.
