This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Your specific duties as a Accounting Clerk will include:
Highly visible role providing various Accounting functions for the St. Paul Mill team. Providing timely month end closing tasks, budgeting and forecasting, and managing the mill vendor invoice payment process.
You will work closely with St. Paul Management, Jacksonville invoice processing team, and mill suppliers.
Managing the budget summary for Divisional management review
Reconcile the summary with the budget detail content.
Examples of month end closing duties:
Develop and manage the month-end accounts payable accrual.
Journal entry into the general ledger.
Examples of purchase-to-payment duties:
Monitoring, and keeping current, receipts not yet vouchered.
Researching invoice errors and keeping the error queue current. Working with Jacksonville, St. Paul staff, and mill vendors to solve outstanding issues.
Establish and maintain a process to manage open purchase orders.
Investigate a process to improve vendor receipts through scanning into vendor payment system.
As a Accounting Clerk you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
1-3 years of related experience required.
Associates degree in Business Administration/Accounting minimum.
Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for attention to detail.
Independent thinker, strong communications personal relationship skills.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word. Knowledgeable in Accounting practices, such as general ledger, journal entry, accounts payable, inventory, etc. Knowledge of JD Edwards helpful.
Working knowledge of purchase to payment required, including purchase orders, receipts, 3-way invoice match process.
Working knowledge of budgeting/forecasting, month end closing, financial statement and variance analysis preferred.
