Job Description

Gore Medical Products has provided creative therapeutic solutions to complex medical problems for 35 years, saving and improving the quality of lives worldwide. As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Process Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Process engineers develop manufacturing processes for new products and provide technical support to commercialized product manufacturing. You will be a process owner, creating value in manufacturing through process development and continuous improvement efforts. You will work with other technical associates and provide mentorship where needed. This role is within the engineering function, specifically within the process engineering discipline, and is focused on process evaluation, definition, and control.

Responsibilities include:
Developing deep technical and historical knowledge of the process and product and applying it to decision making and/or process review
Driving and providing support to quality processes (non-conformance, CAPA, change management, field events, audits, etc.)
Supporting product development efforts by providing input to design for manufacturability
Developing workflow, work station, and equipment improvement recommendations
Designing and coordinating line layouts, cell concepts, and set-ups for current products and line extensions
Conducting equipment and process validations, including IQ, OQ, and PQ
Mentoring new engineers and providing training on new process or equipment modifications
Building a strong collaborative working relationship with a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities (ex. Manufacturing, Quality, Product Specialists, Leadership, etc.)
Responding with urgency to process and equipment issues
Partnering with Divisional and Enterprise teams to execute strategic goals and initiatives at the local level
Applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to manufacturing processes

Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, material science or related discipline
Proven ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion
Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical analysis to manufacturing process trending, improvement, and troubleshooting
Excellent communication and networking skills
A work style of hands-on involvement with all phases of projects
Ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently

Desired Job Qualifications:
Experience developing and executing process and/or equipment validations
Experience in the application of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools
Knowledgeable of GMP and ISO requirements
