Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking Safety Professionals for Projects throughout the United States.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of the project Safety & Health program.
Establish procedures and guidelines for the Safety & Health Program and keep updated.
Develop safety recommendations for specific operations.
Study and provide current information on government regulations for Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and keep Management and Supervisors advised of revisions of new regulations applicable to company activities.
Conduct safety inspections of the jobsite, public areas, adjacent thereto, take necessary and timely corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions.
Establish and implement a safety-training program for supervisors and employees as applicable to their specific jobs and assist in Daily Safety Meetings and Job Hazard Analysis development.
Collect reports required for records and evaluations of performance of Safety and Accident Prevention Programs.
Complete and review Incident, Injury reports as required to assure timely submission and to initiate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Conduct accident investigations and preparation of required forms for timely submission.
Insure all employees receive medical treatment for all injuries.
Ensure that all sub-contractors employees comply with jobsite safety rules and regulations.
Conduct Training to ensure compliance with the all Federal, State, and Local regulations along with company safety policies.
Carry out other such duties as assigned or requested by the company.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED Required.
Heavy Civil Construction safety management experience.
Railroad and or Light Rail safety management experience a plus.
Bilingual is a plus but not required
Pass and maintain e-RAILSAFE pre-employment background check and safety certification (as mandated by Herzog’s Railroad customers). Employees/applicants can be denied access to the railroad property if they have:
A felony conviction within the last 7 years.
An active warrant or open court case.
A fraud alert and/or your release from incarceration within the last 5 years and/or a history of misdemeanors or crimes of concern.
Maintain valid driver’s license
Pass a motor vehicle report review and be able to meet Herzog’s driving policy (no major driving violations in the previous 3 years)
Pass pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen
