What you’ll be doing...
As an Assistant Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the project management, administration, and coordination of building construction projects. You will support the management of day-to-day project activities. Under the supervision of theprogram manager, you will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and preparing cost reports and budget outlook projections, maintaining comprehensive budgets, monitoring and maintaining schedules.
Support project management staff to identify requirements, estimate costs, prepare schedules, and coordinate completion of required work.
Prepare agendas, maintain project budgets and timelines as required for each project and project phase.
Review requisitions, change orders, payment applications, and other invoices associated with the project.
Attend project meetings and document meeting minutes, action items and client requirements.
Maintain reports that track changes to support regular financial reporting.
Support purchase order / change order creation and tracking, invoice processing and reporting and project close outs.
Responsible for supporting multiple program managers and their project workload. Projects include but are not limited to roofing, facades, energy reduction, M.E.P. and space fitouts.
Support project planning including initiation of project scope and timeline, preparing initial cost estimates.
Track iterations of design phase documents. Support procurement, permitting and equipment delivery as needed.
Track project and program budgets in accordance with GRE Administrative rules for project approval, change orders and invoice payment.
Communicate as needed with all project vendors and stakeholders.
Help the program manager in the oversight of contractors to assure completion, quality of performance and stakeholder satisfaction.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four our more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
A valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
A Bachelor’s degree.
Two or more years of related experience in an engineering/construction project management environment.
Budget and cost analysis experience.
Oral and written communication skills.
Strong software competencies: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Time management skills.
Analytical thinking skills.
