Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer for our Dallas office who is not satisfied with the application of ‘Rules Of Thumb’; who endeavors to seek understanding of what he or she knows, and who applies that understanding to the solution and design of building systems. This engineer must desire to gain a non-traditional level of systems engineering expertise to provide our clients with mechanical systems that are engineered for performance, energy efficiency, operability, and maintainability. It is preferable that this individual have particular experience in civic, healthcare, science, technology, and/or data centers.
As a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer, you take responsibility for calculations and systems engineering assigned by the project’s Sr. Mechanical Engineer. You will coordinate your engineering and design activities with your project team members. You also assure the implementation of applicable codes, standards, client engineering and design criteria, and perform daily Quality Assurance checks to eliminate engineering and design errors. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participating with the Sr. Mechanical Engineer in project scheduling.
Performing construction administrative duties such as field reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.
Mentoring junior staff to develop their professional knowledge and understanding of mechanical building systems and the underlying principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and mechanics of materials.
Participating in QA/QC teams for the discipline review of interoffice projects.
The Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Mechanical Discipline Leader.

This position requires an early-career professional committed to the Mechanical Engineering Discipline, has knowledge of building codes, standards, and who is grounded in ASHRAE Fundamentals. Positive interpersonal skills are necessary to be successful in this position.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 5 years of building mechanical system’s engineering and design experience as a professional engineer (HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, and Controls) with particular experience in any of the following markets: Civic. Healthcare, Higher Education, Science, Technology, and/or Data Centers.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensed by examination is required with immediate ability to obtain reciprocity in additional states.
High-level of expertise in Trane Trace 700; Additional experience in the following software programs is preferred: Pipe Flo Professional, Trane Pipe Designer, and ASHRAE Duct Data Base.
Well versed in the latest version of REVIT.
Working knowledge of Civil, Structural, Architecture, Electrical and Fire Protection systems to ensure proper design coordination.
LEED accreditation preferred but not required.
