ExploreLearning is an award-winning creator of online simulations for math and science education. The full-time Professional Development IC Manager position is an exciting opportunity for the right person who is interested in making a difference in the teaching and learning of mathematics and science throughout ExploreLearning’s global learning community.

The Professional Development IC Manager’s primary duties are to build broad and successful usage of Gizmos and Reflex in ExploreLearning’s largest client districts by leading and managing a team of the department’s cadre of Implementation Coordinators. In doing so, the Professional Development IC Manager is also responsible for working with those clients’ sales representatives and PD Regional Managers to develop positive working relationships with district leaders. As a result, the Professional Development IC Manager will contribute to measurably improved classroom instructional practices, to effect utilization of ExploreLearning Gizmos, and to the generation of significant revenue for ExploreLearning.

The Professional Development IC Manager is part of ExploreLearning’s Professional Development (PD) division and reports to ExploreLearning’s Implementation Coordinator, Director.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Management and Program Development Duties (~90% of position)

Contribute to the ExploreLearning’s PD division’s goals, objectives, and projects

As IC Manager of Professional Development:
Recruit, hire, and train candidates for IC positions in cooperation with implementation site contacts and the Implementation Coordinator, Director.
Collaborate with the Implementation Coordinator, Director and other IC Managers to establish and maintain a standard project management model for Gizmos and Reflex implementations in order to provide support to Implementation Coordinators for high quality implementation programs.
Lead and supervise assigned Implementation Coordinators throughout the year, including completing performance evaluations, developing professional growth goals, and providing opportunities for professional growth activities.
Develop positive working relationships with implementation site contacts where project management services are provided.
Work with Implementation Coordinators and implementation site contacts to develop a PD plan designed to effectively deliver initial and ongoing training and support.
Collaborate with the Implementation Coordinator, Director to set, document, analyze, and manage PD activities towards measurable performance metrics as needed.
Perform Implementation Coordinator duties as required prior to onboarding or during an Implementation Coordinator vacancy.
Effectively communicate with sales division and PD division members regarding PD activities at implementation sites where project management services are provided.
Assist Implementation Coordinators to analyze usage reports to identify those schools and teachers needing additional support.
Collaborate with Implementation Coordinators, other IC Managers and IC Director to develop innovative solutions for challenges associated with Gizmos and/or Reflex integration into districts with project management services.

As professional developer:
Represent ExploreLearning in the field and through telecommunications and e-learning while fulfilling PD assignments
Deliver Gizmos and Reflex PD across ExploreLearning’s national network, as assigned
Provide documentation of pre-event, on-site, and post-event activities related to professional development activities
Assist in the development and implementation of innovative PD programs.
Other PD tasks, as assigned.
2. Sales Assistance Duties (~10% of position)

Represent ExploreLearning and present awareness sessions at sales events and professional conferences
Provide documentation of pre-event, on-site, and post-event activities related to sales support activities
If applicable, provide annual operating budget and annual revenue responsibility:
Operating Budget - Assist in preparing annual budget
Revenue - Assist in revenue generating opportunities

Additional Job Functions:
Track, document, and submit expenses related to ExploreLearning duties
Discern and communicate overall status of PD and sales support activities/strategies
Discern and communicate overall status of implementations
Persuasively interact with school decision makers in pre-sale and ExploreLearning use status.
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:
Education

Degree in math, science, math/science education, or business.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Mental Requirements
3+ years of management or coordinator experience in education field
Successful experience in recruiting, training, and managing staff
5+ years of teaching in a secondary math or science classroom
Proven ability to work with small, flexible, cross-functional teams to set measurable goals and meet or exceed them.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
Ability to act independently and responsibly
Proven leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Experience designing and delivering PD for teachers, particularly in mathematics and science
Knowledge of educational research pertaining to instruction and PD in mathematics and science
Skilled use of technology in teaching practice, for training events, and for personal use
Ability to travel (up to 75%) independently to complete assignments

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Education
Undergraduate degree in a math or science discipline, math or science education, or business.
Advanced degree in Curriculum and Instruction, School Leadership, or Math or Science Instruction
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Mental Requirements
3+ years’ experience as a professional development manager for a math and/or science K-12 program
5+ years delivering PD for secondary teachers of mathematics and/or science
3+ years of Gizmo implementation experience as a mathematics and/or science classroom teacher
Proven effectiveness in interacting with school district decision makers
Mastery of the integration of technology in teaching practice, professional presentations, and for personal use
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
Previous experience as a telecommuter
