The University of Indianapolis is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). This is a full-time, exempt position. The individual in this position will serve as a consultant to employees and management in designated departments, and will develop and nurture partnerships to assess and anticipate human resources-related needs. Under general supervision, the HRBP will be responsible for performing a range of functions related to human resources management, compensation administration, performance management, employee relations, and other complex and routine human resources services.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Manage ADA requests and accommodations
  • Monitor budgeted allocations with staffing requirements and maintain accurate position control spreadsheets for designated departments in collaboration with controller
  • Audit employee records for correctness and reconcile discrepancies
  • Minimum of five years of professional level HR consultant or generalist experience is required
  • Considerable knowledge required of principles of Human Resource management
  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field is required
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) desired
  • Supervisory experience helpful
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work alone and on teams on a broad variety of projects required
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity in changing situations with varying needs required
