Position Overview:
Continental is seeking a successful Customer Center Director for our GM account. The Customer Center Director will report to the Senior Vice President, Powertrain NA, Engine Systems Americas and have responsibility for creating and implementing a detailed customer strategy to grow profitable Engine Systems business with General Motors world-wide. The Customer Center Director will be responsible for leading a global high-performing team in a complex and multi-faceted environment.

The Customer Center Director’s primary objectives are to (i) develop and execute an effective account growth strategy, which includes assessing the market and competitive landscape for new product and/or market innovations; and (ii) lead and motivate a global sales and business development team of account managers and customer technical managers.

Core Responsibilities:
• Create & maintain global sales forecast/budget for Engine Systems GM business
• Provide global GM technical, commercial, quality and process requirements for the various BU product, process and quality roadmaps
• Establish standards for the team to manage ongoing product development projects & to lead new business acquisitions
• Manages commercial & technical priorities between regions, leads cross regional customer negotiations (pricing, claims...)
• Develop and implement structured plans to identify and establish relationships with key customer technical and commercial decision-makers
• Create technical engagement opportunities with the customer and leads advance engineering projects to grow the business
• Promote a learning organization by enabling cross-functional exchange and global knowledge sharing
• Drive organization goals over multiple locations through delegation/empowerment of local management and regular presence in all locations
• Serve as an escalation path for customer issues and a source for quick resolution for cross-regional conflicts
• Drive excellence in the governance and execution of all sales & business development activities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the automotive industry
• Proven leadership and performance execution, including a minimum of 5 years of experience managing people
• Experience in at least 2 of the following functional areas (engineering, sales, and/or project management)
• Previous experience setting and implementing department strategy
• Driven, proactive, innovative and flexible personality with a strong sense of initiative and ownership
• Entrepreneurial spirit a must

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Master’s Degree
