The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of master jugglers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.
The Payments Compliance Operations team is responsible for conducting sanctions, identity verification (IDV/KYC), and anti-money laundering (AML) reviews across many of Google’s products.
You will be responsible for managing our AML operations. In this role, you will manage a large team conducting the day-to-day AML processes to ensure Google stays in continuous compliance with government regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies. You will drive compliance cross-functional initiatives to continuously enhance our processes, while balancing the need to support an ever growing business and staying within our regulatory compliance obligations. You will report on our AML activities to management and to government and regulatory agencies.

Manage our Payments Compliance AML Operations team focused on various AML processes.
Monitor the health of our AML Operations, including producing metrics and management reporting to Head of Compliance Operations and other key stakeholders.
Handle priority escalations, which will require interfacing with multiple functional areas, using diverse tools to investigate cases and acquire information.
Interface with multiple functional areas to develop and/or enhance our compliance systems and processes, including Compliance Policy, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance and Product Management.
Develop and/or enhance training manuals for Compliance Operations Analysts and present AML processes to auditors (internal and external) and regulators upon request.
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience managing operations in the payments, money transmitter, banking, or FinTech industry.
Experience with US or UK/European AML regulations
Strong knowledge of payments compliance regulations (e.g. AML, KYC, Sanctions).
Analytical and investigative skills combined with the ability to navigate through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and quickly-changing environment.
