King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Corporate, Finance and Investments Practice in Atlanta. This is an exciting opportunity to execute complex, high-value transactions in a collaborative environment supporting more than 330 lawyers in 17 offices, within the areas of Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions and Investment Funds. The Business Development Manager will work closely with partners in these areas, as well as with colleagues across the firm’s Marketing Department, to help chart business development strategy and drive a range of new business and marketing initiatives.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:
Work with various levels of lawyers and Business Professionals to help craft and execute respective business development and marketing strategies.
Organize and drive client targeting program for team, including prompting and monitoring pursuit activities, and tracking results and ROI.
Conduct strategic research on potential clients, competitors and industry developments to identify business trends and opportunities.
Develop value-driven content for dynamic presentations in PowerPoint in connection with pitches and other new business opportunities.
Draft and coordinate content for RFP responses.
Events and Conference Sponsorships
Work with the events team to organize and support hosted events, seminars, receptions, dinners, and other events, including invitation list development, event materials, participant tracking, on-site management and targeted follow-up activities.
Continuously maintain PowerPoint pitch decks, fact sheets, and website content for team.
Coordinate content for submissions to league rankings, legal directories and awards.
Coordinate marketing budgets: vet big-ticket requests, analyze marketing expenses and effectiveness thereof.
Coordinate team meetings; facilitate internal communications and knowledge sharing among team members.
Successful Candidates are forward thinking, energetic and detail oriented. Candidates are able to bring substantive knowledge and have the ability to work well with various stakeholders within the firm. Candidates should have excellent project management skills in which they can utilize both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, high volume environment. Candidates should have well-developed Microsoft Office skills and be proficient in contact relationship management databases, such as InterAction. Candidates are required to have a undergraduate degree; JD or MBA preferred; strong background in corporate practice area and at least seven years of experience in a business development or marketing role within a law firm or similar professional services environment.
