The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Animal Control Administrator in the Police Department. This list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under limited supervision manages, organizes, and directs all activities of the City's Animal Control Facility operations including the housing and care of incoming stray and unwanted animals, adoptions, public education, citizen complaints and issues, recovery of owned animals, and spray/neuter programs; responsible for animal regulatory and enforcement services; and performs related duties as required.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Animal Science, or a related field
Five (5) years of experience in the operation of an Animal Care and Control Facility, an Animal Shelter, or an Animal Control Agency, two (2) years of which was at the supervisory level
Note: An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered
Must obtain and maintain the following certifications within one (1) year of date of appointment:
Controlled Substance Registration Certification issued by the US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Agency
Euthanasia Technician by the Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
Successful completion of Module A of the National Animal Control and Humane Officer (NACHO) Training Academy
Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
