Overview:
Ford Philanthropy is the philanthropic arm of the Ford Motor Company. Since its founding in 1949, Ford Philanthropy has invested more than $2.2 billion in communities worldwide, expanding access to essential services, opening pathways to education for the future of work and investing in entrepreneurs.
Ford Philanthropy is working to build the future—starting in West Tennessee with BlueOval City, an all-new $5.6 billion electric vehicle and battery mega plant in Stanton, TN. This transformative investment has tremendous potential to change lives. Through the creation of thousands of new jobs and opportunities, BlueOval City is poised to drive economic growth and make a profound impact on an area that approximately 40,500 people call home. Around 16.8% of these residents live below the poverty line, and over half face economic challenges.
In collaboration with the United Way of West Tennessee and local organizations, Ford Philanthropy has spearheaded a plan to provide vital resources and services. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that long-term residents are equipped with the tools they need to thrive as BlueOval City drives economic growth to the region. Through strategic partnerships with community-led organizations, Ford Philanthropy is dedicated to expanding access to essential services, advancing equity, and helping people reach their highest potential.
This work is slated to begin in October 2024 at a temporary location in Downtown Stanton, Tennessee. Local residents will be able to connect with services via a variety of channels, including in-person at the temporary location, calling into 2-1-1, virtually online, and through event outreach.
