Position Location: Topeka, KS
Hours: 4:00PM-Midnight
Compensation: $12.35 (+$0.50 shift differential) hourly

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Criminal History Records Unit within the Information Services Division (ISD).

PRIMARY DUTIES:Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Interpret submitted documentation properly to assure accurate assignment to individual’s history.
Extract, automate data, and form reasonable conclusions when information provided is unclear or incomplete.
Conduct research to obtain documentation for missing information

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)
  • One year of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENT(S)
  • Knowledge of criminal history record information (CHRI) policies, procedures, and regulations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • As a condition of employment, candidate(s) are subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, fingerprint based records check, and comprehensive background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers. The pre-employment process will be waived for current KBI personnel who have previously completed the screening requirements

STEP 2: KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE REQUIRED- Each applicant applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue website at http://www.ksrevenue.org/taxclearance.html. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. If you need assistance with the tax clearance, please contact 785-296-3199. A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days.
STEP 3: Complete the official State of Kansas Employment Application form at https://admin.ks.gov/services/state-employment-center/sec-home/state-employment/apply
STEP 4: Submit your online application to Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI).
