AnyLogic North America, LLC is looking to expand our team in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

We are seeking an Entry Level “Technical Writer / Program Support” individual to join our dynamic team.

About the role and responsibilities:

You’ll be joining a rapidly expanding and experienced team helping us to develop teaching/marketing material for our software and in that process, will learn simulation modeling and grow to support our users in a wide range of simulation and modeling business applications using AnyLogic Software.

You will need exemplary English writing skills since a key part of your role will be to create or edit technical documents. In some cases, you will be working closely with our sales team to develop our marketing materials and perfecting our presentations for non-technical and external parties.

Your role will require you to learn simulation modeling using AnyLogic Simulation Software from simulation modelers and/or our development team. Since this is an entry level position, familiarity with simulation modeling paradigms is NOT required. However, you are expected to have a solid programing background which will help you to learn simulation modeling faster. After successfully completing the training phase, you will use your modeling and programing skills to support our current and future customers with their technical / business questions related to AnyLogic Software which often requires familiarity with both Java programing and simulation modeling techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in engineering discipline or liberal arts with computer science related training or experience
  • 2+ years Programming experience or related educational background - ideally in Java and/or traditional object-oriented languages (C/C++/Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of modern web development architectural concepts and frameworks (HTML5, etc)
  • Excellent writing / editing skills
  • Natural curiosity and drive to learn new topics
  • Interest in modeling of complex technical and business problems
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Solid background in statistics
  • FULL knowledge of all MS Products

Desired Qualifications:

  • A previous role with focus on technical writing
  • Familiarity with Simulation modeling paradigms (Agent based modeling, Discrete event simulation, and System Dynamics)
  • Familiarity with data cleansing and/or relational databases

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
