VP, Operational Finance

The Vice President – Operations Finance is the strategic financial advisor of the E&P Technology and Services (EPTS) segment, supporting directly the COO, SVP’s and operations teams of the segment’s three business lines. While the position reports to the Corporate VP of Finance and Treasurer, the role is the acting chief financial officer of the EPTS segment. There are three direct reports; two finance managers and one financial analyst, all located in Houston, Texas.

Duties and Job Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities of the EPTS segment, including key involvement in strategic planning, evaluation and sanctioning of projects, bid proposal & risk analysis, and evaluation of financing opportunities on EPTS related projects
Responsible for influencing and helping business development and operations leadership drive business performance via involvement in contract reviews/negotiations, cash collections and cost controls, ongoing assessment and communication of financial performance and KPI’s
Responsible for EPTS segment planning and forecast development, quarterly business review and Board presentation support, analysis and recommendations on potential projects
Oversees the cash forecasting processes and working capital management, and for developing efficiencies and improvements in these processes
The financial liaison between business operations and the shared accounting services functions, which includes general accounting. Also liaisons with various other Corporate support functions (Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Human Resources) as it relates to EPTS related projects
Assist senior management in design, implementation and tracking of sales compensation plans and targets
Participate in evaluation of M&A and partnership opportunities
Maintain current understanding of industry and competitor performance in order to drive strategic planning
Oversight and development of Finance Managers responsible for FP&A activities of each business line
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required
At least 15 years of relevant business experience required with minimum of 5 years at a senior finance leadership position
Experience in the E&P industry required, with preference towards seismic operations and multi-client data library programs
Master’s degree strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication skills required
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet critical deadlines
