Position Title: Member Engagement Manager
Position Classification: Full Time/Exempt - 36 Hour Work Week
Reports To: Director of Community & Member Engagement

Position Summary: The Member Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent execution of comprehensive year-round member engagement plan that consists of goals and objectives centered around the member (girl/family and volunteer) experience within an assigned territory. A key member of the Mission Delivery team, responsible for providing exceptional member support and programming execution that results in annual retention of members. The Manager actively works with and engages volunteers while fostering positive service unit (community of volunteers and girls in a geographic area) relationships that are critical for member retention and satisfaction.
Major Accountabilities-Mission Delivery within Assigned Territory
1. Builds proactive relationship management to provide the highest level of customer service to girls, their families and our troop and SU leadership within the assigned territory.
2. Support the delivery of service unit and troop led programs and services that are equitable, inclusive and accessible experiences that engage and retain girls and volunteers.
3. Collaborate with Service Unit and Member Experience team to develop and execute annual Service Unit assessments in an assigned territory and develop action plans where needed.
4. Actively engage with Service Unit leadership by attending in person and virtual meetings on a regular schedule for assigned territory.
5. Collaborate with council team to coordinate day-to-day functions for a specific regional service center(s) related to property and vehicle maintenance and technology needs. (If applicable to assigned territory.)
6. Be the “go to” for local community relations as requested by the Director of Community & Member Engagement.
7. Execute signature events, including recruitment of volunteers, as directed by the Girl Experience Team.
8. Plan and execute other territory specific programs and activities, as prescribed by the Girl Experience Team.
9. Collaborate with the Membership Recruitment Manager to assist with recruitment, renewal and retention activities at the service unit and troop level. Actively track and communicate progress on support, engagement, and retention results.
10. Support the council’s volunteer management system including the retention, selection, placement, training, recognition, and re-assignment of volunteers.
11. Consistently coach and mentor volunteers through effective communication and conflict management to help build strong relationships within troops and Service Units.
12. Provide a high level of customer service to service units and troops by consistent communication, problem solving and responding to troop and volunteer questions professionally within 8 business hours. Enter information into member data systems in accordance with council procedures and timeframes.
13. Manages the council cookie cupboard within assigned territory.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred, in related field such as communication, nonprofit management, volunteer management or youth programming.
2. 3+ years of experience in volunteer management and/or youth programming preferred; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for the Girl Scouts Mission. Ability to authentically connect to and persuasively communicate the Girl Scouts Mission and impact required along with a high level of customer service skills and customer advocacy.
4. Strong sense of urgency and results-orientation are required.
5. Ability to multi-task and a strong attention to detail is a must.
6. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of age groups.
7. Self-starter with exceptional written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to be diplomatic and build rapport, support, and commitment.
8. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes regular travel, night and weekend hours across the assigned territory as needed.
9. Valid, current driver’s license required.
10. Ability to maintain active, paid membership in the Girl Scouts movement annually.
11. Must be able to successfully complete required pre-hire criminal background check and motor vehicle screenings.
Working Conditions/Physical and Safety Requirements:
1. This position will work in a normal business or remote office environment, as well as outdoors.
2. Ability to lift, move and transport up to 30 lbs. regularly.
3. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
4. Ability to move self into different positions to accomplish tasks.
5. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
