Position Summary & Duties:
Scheduler/Planner Contract position working on a Hi-Tech Manufacturing Plant Construction Project in Shanghai, China.
Rotation Schedule will be 6-weeks on and 1-week off.
Must have Manufacturing & Overseas Construction Experience, Preferably in China or East Asia.
Scheduler/Planner Job Description:
The Scheduler/Planner will be responsible for working with project teams to support Engineering and Project Controls across a very large EPCM project. The Scheduler/Planner will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules and reporting on project progress. Additional Scheduler/Planner responsibilities will include routine and special project work that involves the retrieval, preparation, processing, manipulation and management of data. The ability to adapt to frequent and rapid change, and to utilize skill and judgment to solve problems is required of the Scheduler/Planner.
Scheduler/Planner Job Responsibilities
Scheduler/Planner will develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in the developing alternate methods for corrective action.
Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
Maintain record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
Scheduler/Planner will review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.
Ensure resources are aligned to schedule activities, analyze loading requirements and required resource levels and check for constraints
Implement physical progress measurement and reporting tools to ensure earned value methodology is used to monitor and validate progress and performance
Provide regular progress updates, highlighting variances from the baseline; recommend corrective actions that mitigate potential delays or progress slippage
Scheduler/Planner will utilize tools and software to report and analyze cost performance
Train and support designated team members on scheduling tasks as needed
Qualifications:Scheduler/Planner Job Requirements:
10+ years of Scheduler/Planner experience working on a manufacturing plant construction project
Prior experience scheduling large projects desired
Heavy experience with P6 a must
Ability to import/export from other scheduling software, build out structure
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Effective communication and organizational skills
Prior overseas construction experience, preferably in China or East Asia
