The Bariatric Navigator is responsible for the case coordination of patients through the work-up phase leading to surgery. Candidate is responsible for making sure patient is following through with appointments, assisting making outside appointments when needed, results are received, scheduling new consults, assisting with education sessions and navigating our Spanish speaking patients. Candidate should be organized, personable and have an attention to detail.
Responsible for full range of administrative support in a medical office setting providing duties from scheduling appointments, calling pharmacies, billing patients and verifying precertifications to triaging phone calls from patients, physicians and insurance companies,while maintaining patient and business confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customers are met. Reports to assigned supervisor.
High School Diploma preferred.
Bilingual English /Spanish required.
Medical Administrative Assistant certification preferred.
One to two years experience in a medical office setting
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Basic keyboarding skills with proficiency in use of personal computer programs.
Knowledge of medical coding preferred i.e.: CPT and ICD9 coding.
Excellent communication skills.
