The role of the Communications Intern will support with our digital employee workplace and existing social media platforms. This individual needs strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team who is very excited to work with an intern hoping to gain great online experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in development of content for digital workplace
Identify opportunities for improvements on digital workplace
Create digital content
Reply to comments, messages, and reporting findings to the team
Track and analyze the growth and the impact of social media on our business
Upload videos and photos to YouTube and the database
Identify other users to follow/friend/like our business
Attend some organizational events to capture photos/content for our social media accounts
Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social media networks
Outreach and promotion using Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and more
Optimize website and social media
Analyze keywords
Analyze cost/benefit

Required Skills and Experience:
Student entering Junior or Senior year of undergraduate program enrolled as a Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or Public Relations major
Strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms
Demonstrable experience on the Web and a solid understanding of social media trends
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Word)
Be organized, able to take instructions, work in a time sensitive environment, and be able to solve problems independently or/and under limited supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated, critical thinker, flexible with technical background and committed to the assignment
Returning for at least one more semester following the summer 2019 internship
Able to work full time hours (40 hours) for 12 weeks starting May 2019 – August 2019
Previous work experience outside the classroom
Great written and verbal communications skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under deadlines
Authorization to work in the United States
