The prospective researcher will carry out research in integrating photonic qubits with magnonic quantum transducers. The selected candidate will collaborate with a group of scientists and postdoctoral researchers at CNM towards the development of a hybrid photonic/magnonic quantum system for photonic qubit manipulation and quantum transduction. This position will utilize advanced instrumentation in the CNM to perform optical and spintronic studies of quantum materials. Investigate optical materials using advanced spectroscopic methods and develop integrated photonic structures for light-matter interactions. Develop spintronic devices and magnonic quantum transducers. Study their coupling with optical materials. Publishes results in refereed journals and makes oral presentations at meetings conferences, symposia, and seminars. Maintains cognizance of available techniques and expertise in related research groups through interactions and collaborative efforts. Reports on experiment progress, technique development, and new initiatives to peer reviewers and to program managers.
A strong experimental background in device engineering in integrated photonics, spintronics or other related areas is preferred. Hand-on experiences in device design, fabrication and characterization are highly preferred. Good programming and data analysis skills are beneficial.
A Ph.D. degree in physics, engineering, or any other related areas obtained within the last three years or to be finished soon is required.
Interested candidates should send a detailed curriculum vitae including a list of publications and the names and addresses of three professional references through the Argonne web site at http://www.anl.gov/careers for requisition number NST 407045.
