Cancer Registry consultants assist in case finding, abstracting, and follow-up activities. They serve as quality control specialists editing abstracts and resolving errors. They are also cancer registry data experts capable of educating personnel and skilled at guiding registry functions toward acceptable recognized standards.


  • Performs abstracting, case-finding and follow-up activities in accordance with the American College of Surgeon Commission on Cancer (ACS CoC), central registry and client specific guidelines
  • Assists with edit resolution as needed
  • Stays abreast of changes to industry guidelines and standards
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with clients, managers and co-workers both orally and utilizing electronic methods
  • Adheres to the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) Professional Practice Code of Ethics
  • Participates in Peer Group activities
  • Exhibits professionalism, flexibility, dependability, commitment to customer service and desire to learn
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Maintains 95% quality and accuracy rate on all work assigned


  • Reports to work as scheduled
  • Complies with all Ciox Health policies, specifically, attendance and punctuality
  • Records time and productivity accurately via required applications
  • Works remotely accessing work related projects and tasks via remote client system access
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 3+ years experience in Cancer Registry required
  • CTR credentials required; credential validation updates required cyclically
  • Fulfills yearly education requirements in accordance with CoC Standard 1.11
