About the team:
The Liberty Mutual US Technology Information Management (IM) team is seeking a passionate program manager / scrum master, process expert and data leader to serve as Senior Program Manager, Information Management to effectively manage the delivery of strategic programs and all activities (multiple cross-departmental scrums) within the Information Management department. The Information Management department is charged with developing data and analytics solutions for our business partners – including Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Science/Advanced Analytics and Cloud technologies. This individual will work within the Information Management group within Global Retail Markets (GRM) US Technology. This role will report directly to the VP & Senior Director for Information Management within GRM US.

About the role:
This role will be responsible for a holistic view, coordination, and management of all Information Management work – including all scrums, special projects (POCs, incubation) and strategic corporate initiatives. The goal of this role will be twofold, to ensure consistent and clearly communicated delivery / execution and to provide streamlined operations for the Information Management team. The first goal is ensuring optimal execution of all data engineering solutions and delivery with our business partners and product owners. To achieve this, the agile practice leader will own and devise a consolidated view across all Information Management scrums, providing executive reporting and monitoring for consistent delivery (e.g. Scrum of Scrums, Release Management). Second, this role will work to drive efficiency and more consistent operations across the teams, including the establishment of new standards and new processes for across scrums, communications (e.g. Wiki, Confluence, SharePoint etc.) to the business, vendor management and budgeting planning. The role will provide coaching and support to all Scrum Masters and will have a small direct and/or matrixed team to support these goals.
What does this role entail?
Key member of Information Management leadership team, providing key strategic vision on program management / agile best practices, people and vendor management, communications and budgeting
Program owner / leader for strategic “Data Transformation” initiative for GRM organization
Define and build comprehensive portfolio executive reporting for all Information Management scrum work and strategic programs to ensure consistent monitoring of progress/status and delivery success metrics
Aggregates scrum team objectives and progress and publishes to business and all team members to ensure visibility and transparency
Serve in agile practices senior leadership role of “Chief Scrum Master” who conducts the Scrum of Scrums partnering with the business partners and stakeholders
Define and ensure consistent processes and tools for program management are implemented across all Scrum teams
Key liaison between IM and Finance, HR and Procurement on vendor management and budgeting
Establish and drive Information Management vendor management standards in-line with corporate procurement, standardize SOWs and drive RFP process as needed to optimize vendor spend
Design communication plans for Information Management, including Release Management, Scrum of Scrums, departmental updates, and internal/external announcements and programs
Drive consistent documents and collaboration environments, including external and internal facing-SharePoint
Owns Release Management process and team
Collaborates with senior product / business leadership, senior architects and Directors in Information Management to ensure alignment on strategy and execution
Facilitates interaction and appropriate communication between scrum teams, architecture and business partners and stakeholders
Removes impediments through provision of appropriate resources, guidance and escalation
Ensures adherence to agile practice through program increment planning, retrospectives, etc. for scrum teams
Ensures successful delivery of large impact and/or cross-functional product or strategic initiatives
Applies effective SAFe methodologies
Coaches, mentors and provides guidance to scrum masters
Provides input on Scrum Master performance

This role might be for you if you have:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or related experience; Master's Degree preferred.
Ten (10) or more years hands-on experience leading large strategic and complex management programs with specialization in data/information management
Two (2) or more years as Scrum Master or coach in Agile team settings
Two (2) or more years people leadership experience
Deep understanding and hands-on experience with project management principles, PMP certification and agile processes and ceremonies
Expertise in developing new processes, process modeling or mapping to optimize or establish new
Experience with Clarity or other enterprise budgeting, resourcing and project planning tools
Working knowledge of project management and Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project)
Working knowledge of internal corporate collaboration, knowledge management and social media tools (SharePoint, O365, Wiki)
Vendor management experience
Financial / budget management experience
Expert organizational, communication and presentation skills
Customer/business focus with ability to negotiate, facilitate and build consensus
Ability to work in a team environment spanning multiple locations and matrixed relationships

Nice-to-have/Preferred Qualifications:
Depth in one or more data management areas such as Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, Data Lake, Data Warehouse or Analytics strongly preferred
SixSigma, ITIL or other IT operational excellence experience or certifications preferred
Hands-on experience with IT Release Management processes, RTE strongly preferred
